Last night I got to debut my new Oiselle Roga shorts on my tempo run. I’ve been debating rogas for a while, and then this rave review from a certain leggy runner made me bite the bullet and purchase. Like I really needed to get my arm twisted to hand over my credit card details. They arrived last week, and I finally got to take them out for a spin last night. I got the black pair, and they also… Read more »

Sunday Morning Soul
Last Sunday after my amazing series of decisions that left me with 3 hours sleep and an inability to bend my knees without wincing in pain, I found myself walking down to the UWS branch of Soul Cycle. If I hadn’t been meeting a friend, and I hadn’t already paid for the class, I’m honestly not sure I would have gone. But autopilot can do funny things to you, and somehow I ended up checking into class. The first thing… Read more »
Chill Weekend Working Through My To Do List
That was the weekend I needed! I even got a 10 hour sleep in, which automatically makes it the longest sleep that I’ve had in at least a month, if not much, much longer. Sometimes, your body just knows what it wants. I started the weekend with a March Madness Happy Hour with work people. I am not a good work socialite, which in my organization is a handicap; everything here is built upon your network and who you know…. Read more »
Refining My Abs (and Arms and Thighs and Glutes)
I’ve mentioned on here a couple of times that my hard won abs have been slowly disappearing. While resources such as ToneItUp are amazing me with immediate “I want to work out right now in my apartment” urges, I need to commit to a class to get real results, because, honestly, I need to get yelled and have financial loss in order to work my abs. I had heard many positive things about Refine Method, and have been following Brynn’s… Read more »
Early Morning Runner Goes Too Fast
Let’s celebrate the first win of Spring: I actually went running before work. Granted, I had a late start today as I didn’t need to leave the apartment until 8.30am, but I’m still very proud of myself. The last couple of months have seen my early morning running commitment take a serious nose-dive, so I’m hoping that the new season, the clocks changing, the warm weather, and the incentive of iced coffee will encourage me to get out of my… Read more »
Eat, Drink, Run, Sweat Makes For Little Sleep
Although this weekend resulted in a serious lack of sleep, an inability to stand up or sit down without wincing, and a weird laundry induced wrist injury, I’m going to take that as a sign of a seriously good time, although at times I was regretting my exuberant approach to scheduling. Especially when unplanned things like being woken on 1.30am on Saturday night by the synagogue next door dismantling a stage for a bar mitzvah, not the drunken “Irish”. On… Read more »
My Running Partner Dumped Me
My running buddy and I broke up. I’ve seen it coming for a couple of weeks. First, he was veering off to the exit after a loop of the Bridle Path. Then he started slowing to a trot during the second half of the run. Finally, on Tuesday, he flat out turned around and tried to run home. When you’re on leash you don’t get to make a lot of decisions. But it’s clear that Moose, after a brief honeymoon… Read more »
Double Yoga! My First Restorative Class
This weekend amid all my crazy running around I made time for some forced relaxation. Read: double yoga. Yes, it’s almost as good as double rainbow. Sidebar: does anyone else get stressed about fitting yoga class in, and is this counter-productive to yoga itself? Yogis answer please! I went to Pure Yoga and took Slow Flow, and then Restoratives, both with Jessica. Slow Flow is a good, not too tough, ease out the mind and body class. Jessica is a… Read more »
My Brooks Shirt Makes Me Run Happy
Isn’t coming home to a bunch of packages the best feeling? One night last week I came home to three. One was a new Verizon wireless card for work (so unexciting I haven’t even taken it out of its box), one was some Meyer Lemon dish soap from drugstore.com, and a box of goodies from Running Warehouse. You can guess which one I was most excited about! I had noticed some money in my paypal account last week so decided to… Read more »
Race Fever!! And a Busy Weekend
I have race fever!! And it feels so good! Between Thursday and Friday I registered for the Nashville Country Music Half, the ING New York City Marathon, and the Boilermaker. I’m extremely excited about all of them for different reasons. I’ve never been to Nashville, and I’m going for a girls’ weekend with my good friend Elena. We’re running and then eating and drinking. A lot. It will be awesome. There might be costumes. I heard about the Boilermaker a… Read more »
